We are glad to launch the very first comprehensive queer magazine in Kenya; DIVER-SITY. The queer community is quite vibrant and versatile, but less covered locally in the mainstream media. This magazine aims to breach that gap. It will comprehensively focus on matters affecting us directly and indirectly.
It will include but not limited to; news, advocacy, fashion, lifestyle, wellness, sex, events, facts, trends, financial literacy and growth, entertainment and any other relevant or special topic concerning and affecting the community like: partner violence, queer families, homelessness, allies etc. Individuals, organization, groups, businesses shall be featured in every issue, with details about their work, achievements, challenges and any other important information about them that we can learn from, and can encourage us in general.
There shall be monthly production, and it shall be as colorful as the rainbow flag and as versatile as the many queer identities in the world. The magazine will fully be available online on the website. Eventually hard copies shall be produced and made available at select spaces. Readers will be required to sign up in order to access it.
The first two issues shall be free, thereafter there shall be a predetermined affordable subscription fee payable monthly or annually. We welcome any volunteers at any capacity that may be interested in contributing their input to join us. We also encourage any sponsors to be part of this big move so as to enable us make the magazine affordable or free to the queers as it shall be full of educative articles. We hope that the community acknowledges and embraces it, but most importantly enjoys reading it and looking up to a new issue every month.
